Getting Duke Ready
Coral pinning Courtney's number on

last minute instructions and pep talk

Waiting to enter the arena

Yesterday Courtney showed in her first horse show at the Tacoma Unit. This was a schooling show and she entered 6 classes and placed in all 6. Her very 1st class was a walk, jog pleasure class and she placed 1st. Way to go Courtney!!!!! She continued on and got two 2nd place ribbons and three 4th place ribbons. Courtney was very nervous all day but did great. It was a lot of fun to watch her and she really did look good out there. Courtney's trainer Coral was with her all day helping her and encouraging her. Courtney said "I couldn't have done it without Coral". She has been taking lessons with Coral since September and has learned a lot. Coral being there really helped Courtney a lot. Thanks Coral!!

The pictures taken in the arena are really dark. Im going to try to edit them and hopefully get some better ones posted soon.

Good bye Jake!

Well our horse ownership was very short (6 days). Courtney's trainer Coral discovered that we had been lied to severely about Jake. He is actually a Thoroughbread and is tatooed to prove it and at least in his late 20's. We were told he was a breeding stock paint and 17 years old. We got to keep the tack that came with him and got most of our money back so in the end it all worked out ok. The girls were sad but understand that this was definately not the horse for us. We are thankful that Coral came and took a look at him and will be much more selective and not rush into purchasing again. We are still looking for the perfect starter horse for the girls and hope to find one by spring.

Jake

Here are a couple more pictures of Jake. He came with his saddle. The girls both rode him in the arena tonight. They were a little nervous but did just fine. Jake is definately going to be getting lots of loving care from the girls!

This is Jake

We would like to introduce our newest family member Jake. He is a 17 year paint. We just bought him today and this is the only picture we have. I will get some better pictures when we go to the barn tomorrow after work.

Christmas Dinner

We had a nice prime rib dinner with family and friends and shared some good laughs especially Janice who got the giggles a lot. It is so nice to spend time with the family. We really missed Perry and Diana and hope Diana is feeling better.

Kori

Kori is going to have a lot of fun learning to play the electric guitar. She has wanted to learn to play for a long time. I hope we don't regret this one.
